Hey Josh,

I just found your site. I'm a Sheedy, too. Is there any other way to contact you than commenting over here?

I'm a Sheedy! I have no idea if we're related, but my father is Michael Karl Sheedy. His father is Francis Sheedy. Frank's mother is Nelly Sheedy, but her husband passed away long before I was born. I don't know his name, but could ask my Dad for more information. I'm an identical twin and my sister's name is Andrea.

It's nice to see another Sheedy. I love my name, but didn't love the jokes through childhood. If you've got some good original ones, feel free to pass them my way by e-mail. I'll share mine as well.

We all live in Washington, mostly in the Seattle area. Despite this fact, I must leave you with this: DA BEARS.

I have talked with quite a few people from Australia before, and there tends to be some relation. Once I get everything back up to a usable point, I will let you know. You can email me @ josh@sheedy.ws

Hi, Josh, and thanks for dropping by my web page. I'm a Sheedy by marriage, but it's a great name. I suppose I'm not telling you anything you don't know, but the original name was O'Sioda (silk) and there are some stories attached to the name. :-) If you google O'Sioda you'll find them easily enough.

My husband and I went to Ireland a few years ago and saw Bunratty Castle in Country Clare, Ireland, where some of the Sheedy clan were chiefs. It was great fun!
All the best,
EC Sheedy

Thank you for your comment, As of right now I have been unable to find anything older then 1801. The records in Ireland are unable to find much more about my family. I plan to keep on looking. thanks again.

Enjoy your genealogy quest. My uncle, Norman, did research on a family name -- Bunting -- and was able to trace our family back to London in 1215, the year of the Magna Carter. We learned that Buffalo Bill was on our family tree and some other people of somewhat lesser note.
